Playful MR KITTY

Recently MR KITTY'S parents Grant & Kate went over Seas for a wonderful 5 week Holiday and we had the pleasure of playing with MR KITTY every day while they were away.

MR KITTY is a fully grown 2 year old ginger short haired 3/4 Burmese 1/4 Persian handsome feline who lives indoors with his parents in a spacious town House at Mt Gravatt East.

Other than his Mum & Dad MR KITTY'S two loves are playing and dinner time!.....and can this cat PLAY! he loves running through his tunnel, playing on his cat pole, playing with balls which bounce BIG time! running like a maniac! all through his palace or playing 'catch the light spot' when his mum Kate shines a beam of light from a torch on the main wall of the living room....oh purrfect fun!!

And as I mentioned he loves food too! more a meat & potatoes bloke than anything too exotic! He dines on a tin of wet food for breakfast & Dinner + has a varied selection of different Bikkies to munch on during the day

Oh and did I mention he his spoilt!!
MR KITTY appreciated staying in his own familiar surroundings however being a bit of a mummy's boy he really missed his Mum and even though we had some gggreat games he was very happy to see his Mum finally walk back through the front door!

SOMETHING DIFFERENT...... BOO & FLINN

When we started our Pet Sitting Business being 6km from the CBD in Brisbane we didn't think we would have the opportunity to care for any pets classed as farm animals!

For 2 blocks of school holidays we have cared for BOO the pot belly PIG and FLINN an old work HORSE who live in Tingalpa with their family....and it has extended now too chickens who live with BOO and a Thai fighting fish who is in a bowl up stairs in the house! + a furry kid Doggy who goes else where for his holidays!

BOO & FLINN have a great easy going life style in their very generous 'back yard' which has the stable and pen.

FLINN dines daily on 10 liters of loose green hay and 2 scoops of horse food pellets and for afternoon tea he had a few treats from the house eg carrots, bread and other veges. When the weather is cold and rainy he has a good Strong coat to keep him extra warm and dry in his stable.

BOO dines on a special grain formula - 2 cups for brekky plus 500 grams of thawed(frozen veges) and afternoon tea has a selection of fruit and fresh veges. He also enjoys his daily mud bath! chasing the chickens and going for walkies on his harness!...and when asked to 'SIT' he will do so for food! he is a very clever, determined and strong little PIG!

And NOT for getting the CHOOKS....they dine on 2 cups of grain daily and their greatest challenge is to eat it before BOO gets back to the pen after his WALKIES!!

They all get along famously and live in a very BIG yard together! And I am sure you will agree that it is fantastic for city of it's size that Brisbane children still have the opportunity of calling animals such as Boo & Flinn ....family FURRY KID pets!

Cosmopolitan ...'ASHES'

ASHES is an English Short Hair with a beautiful thick grey/ silver coat and amazing yellowish-brown eyes and is in-doors only.

She and her Mum Cheryl have lived in Many countries and Ashes takes it all in her stride! She lives in a very generous sized apartment with her Mum at Teneriffe, however preferred to spend a lot of her day in a cupboard box sitting in one of the front bedrooms.

She always greeted me with a very loud Meow and then marched down the hall way to see what goodies she would be dinning on that day! She is on Mainly a dry food diet however receives small portions of wet food treats every few days and other little goodies. She also has 'hair ball goop' a thick grainy, sweet liquid which reduces any fur balls.

We got into a good routine! after dinning on her bikkies she would go to the living area for a brush and scratch. Another very spoilt feline who has a selection of brushes to choose from depending on her mood and of course toy mice and balls scattered to always keep her amused!

ALWAYS SMILING OSCAR TOMKINS

Oscar is a 2 year Old kings Charles Cavalier who has stayed for HOME STAY a Few times when his Family visit Friends & family in NSW. He has a very gentle nature and enjoys playing in the yard, Walkies and mainly standing directly under your feet!

He is very friendly and always gets along very well with the Doggy Day Care Furry Kids and and other furry kids who stay for home stay too.

One of his favourite games is playing with his Ball & Rope...he loves tug-a-war and a game of chasies in the yard.

OSCAR is sensitive to beef products so his Mum Caroline has him on a dry biscuit and chicken loaf diet which in really enjoys.

He is a very loved and spoilt member of his family and his Mum bought him a big box of our TUNERIFFIC FURRYKIDTREAT Bikkies for snacks...yum lick woof !!

HIMALAYAN FELINE - CHELSEA

CHELSEA is a 10 year old Himalayan who lives a lovely life indoors in her lovely Newstead Palace she shares with her Mum Lisa.

Chelsea was a birthday present to Lisa 10 years ago and since then Chelsea has been celebrating her good fortune!

She has a very full and fluffy cream coat with Latte Ears and Tail. She usually dines on Bikkies for breakfast and at dinner time feasts on a porcelain plate brimming with fresh steak or human grade (spring water ) Tuna.

During the day she has two levels in her mum's apartment to roam about in or catch the midday movie while stretched out on the sofa!

She enjoys getting her coat brushed, however wasn't so keen on being photographed and wondered what the fuss was all about!

She and I have become good friends and I visit her regularly when her Mum enjoys a weekend getaway.

MOTHER & DAUGHTER TIFFANY & MISTY returned for Easter Holidays

No difference in friendship...still the best of friends & follow each other every where....difference in SIZE now!

Misty when she last visited us at Xmas time was only 4 mths old and was a little floppsey puppy! Now she is over double the size and continues to enjoy belly tickles and loved playing in the yard with a new fiend Matilda. They had a wonderful time, however most times of the day she remained faithful companion

to her Mummy Tiffany.

Tiffany/ tiffy had increased in size too...around the waist line! So she wasn't encouraged to indulge in too many carob (choc) tops on Easter Sunday Morning! She was sporting a very attractive new Hair Style too. As always she was a very good house guest and when ever the opportunity was there she would roll over for a belly rub! so much so that she went home with a rather red belly from the rash that had developed...I think she over did allowing everybody..and every furry body to tickle her too!

We look forward to seeing the girls again, next time Mummy & Daddy visit family in Sydney.

PURRFECT HARMONY for the FURRY & FEATHER MUIR KIDS

Meet the MUIR KIDS.... Felines CLAUDE & XAVIER BUDGIES SATAN & SELVESTER

I had the pleasure of caring for them when their Mum & Dad Trudie & Brenton went on a South Pacific cruise recently.

CLAUDE older House Brother to Xavier is a RUSSIAN BLUE. He is 4 years old and he Runs the palace! He is a very independent furry kid and his motto is the less fuss the better! He has to be in the mood to accept your attention and affection! He would rather self scratch & play on his cat scratching pole and often on the move...so he was difficult to photograph. He also has to be in the mood to use his kitty litter.....and purrfers going right next to the litter instead!

The flip side to this is XAVIER. He is a 1 year old LAYANESE. He was quite happy to pose for the camera, and could think of no greater pleasure than you brushing his coat all day! He loved a cuddle too.

He saw the fun in playing with the ribbon from his Mum's valentine's flowers she had received, or playing in his Hot Pink eucanuba cat tent.

The Palace of Brothers MUIR is shared bravely by two other house kids SATAN & SILVESTER Budgerigars.

They live happily cherping to each other all day and have lots of nice bird treats and toys to keep them busy.

They didnt like the Camera very much.... obviously they like to keep a lower profile incase the boys get this close too!!

I will look forward to seeing them all again in September when their Mum & Dad go on their next adventure.

MONET'S FOUR & FABULOUS

FURRY KIDS BIRTHDAY PARTY

MONET PELGRAVE turned 4 (28 dog years) on the 16th February

and to celebrate we gave him a birthday bash for 9 of his nearest and dearest furry kid friends and their parents joined in on the fun too!

There were all sorts of yummy, lick smacking treats for the furry kids including a variety of Furry Kid Treat Bikkies -Tuneriffic, Peanut crunch, Chic Chic Bones and lots of other treats too. Plus there was Birthday Cake - Mince Cake with Veges topped with Carob (choc) drops.....drool yum lick served up to every furry kid guest on their own party plate.

All furry kids also went home with a doggy bag full of goodies!!

And while the furry kids played chasies Mum's ,Dad's and Grand Parents enjoyed a relaxed and fun afternoon too.

Thank you to all our friends who were able to make it and celebrate the day with us.

HOME STAY GUEST INDIGO SHERIDAN

INDIGO is an 8 year old Boxer who stayed with us for 3 nights while her family had a long weekend in Adelaide enjoying SA wines!

INDIGO is a lovely placid Boxer who took the 'chilled out' approach to life! She was very well mannered too though it did get a bit noisy watching TV in the evening ..... for her snoring was very loud!

She loved her dinner each evening of a can of Pal and loved been given a treat too. The other big event she looked forward to each day was Walkies. Indigo suffers from arthritis and is given daily medication though nothing stops this proud Boxer of a good walk every day.

On the Sunday afternoon we all went for a walk on the Wynnum Manly esplanade and she became very animated when we saw small fox Terriers and any breeds that resembled German Shepherds. She loves a good drool too, however we removed all evidence of this before we snaped her photographs.

She was very happy to see her Mum Fiona for she is a much loved and spoiled furry kid!....which is always gggreat to see.

BAY SIDE LIFESTYLE FOR

MACY & HARLEY

MACY & HARlEY are house Brother & Sister and live in Manly.

The best time of everyday other than Dinner time ! is when they go for their daily Walkies.

Ian over the weekend had the job of Caring for them while their family got away and after completing the walk he said he wasn't sure 'who walked who' ! Together they are much stronger than walking many of our other regular furry clients.

HARLEY is a very fit & lean German Shepherd 3 years old and takes a rather good photo! He is very well trained for Walkies and always walks to the left side closest to the Carer.

His House Sister MACY is a very well mannered Rottweiler and is 6 years old.
They both enjoy a great lifestyle living at Manly and are lucky enough to be in close proximately to walk along the Esplande.

We will be looking forward to seeing them and walking them again at Easter time.

INTRODUCING BASIL & BERTIE DIXON

BASIL & BERTIE are house brothers & Best Buddies who came to stay for 2 nights when there family had to go to Warwick.

They were extremely well mannered little gentleman and even grumpy Monet seemed to enjoy their company.

Big brother BASIL is 4 years old and is a mini Poodle Shih tzu X. He is all action! he would play fetch with his well loved & worn kong 24 hours a day if you could keep up with his pace! Basil enjoys water sports....playing chasey with the hose to cool down after a big session of Fetch. He is also an expert surgeon too... for He operates on any squeaky toy and carefully makes a small incision / roundish whole to remove the Squeak! So he is a Big Fluffy All Action Teddy Bear who loves a cuddle, and like his clever house brother performs great tricks for a treat!

Baby of the family BERTIE is 3 years old Lhasa Apso X with a soft white and Tan medium length Coat. He is a very gentle little fellow who loves going for walkies, cuddling up close when watching T.V or being nursed and enjoys finding a shady spot to have a little nap. Brothers' Dixon are great performers....Sit, High Five, Down ...then a Treat! or a little dance on his back legs for a Treat!

They were a lot of fun and Mum Shae has already booked them in for their next Home Stay

visit.

CATS ARE AMAZING...HOW FLEXIBLE THEY ARE!

Introducing the amazing Flexible HUGO!

Hugo is a sleek, and very handsome Chocolate coloured Burmese who shares his ultra sleek Tenneriffe Apartment with his Mum Annette.

This spoilt Feline loves to pur all day on his couch, or play with his basket of toys, or hide on the upstairs floor of his Palace in a linen laundry basket Awaiting to see his Mum ....and jump out and surprise her! There are a couple of other gorgeous hiding places or have a drink from the down stairs toilet! HUGO!

Hugo dines on a selection of biscuits during the day, and prefers a hearty tuna 'dine' dish for Breakfast....for all that flexing he will do for the day ahead!

SUSHI & TOBY

House Brothers SUSHI & TOBY of Morningside always make visiting them interesting! Last occasion TOBY with the Attitude had a go at SUSHI and left him with a sore leg.

Over the weekend I once again visited the boys twice a day.

Once to let them out for the day and the other for their

dinner visit. On the last night this time TOBY

who I thought had lost the attitude ...maybe

when he had his coat clipped back..

Decided not to come home at all! I went around twice that night, called out his name, hit the tin with the spoon trick ; shock all the bushes in the yard and drove around the block looking for him.....to NO avail! Finally He arrived home just as I was leaving the next morning.

As punishment!!!...Sushi had eaten both huge dinners and so I gave Toby a tin of chicken casserole to tie him over until dinner. So in the photos I took , TOBY is looking very lean and SUSHI is looking very content!

CAT, FROGS & CRICKETS....

That was the selection of furry kids we cared for at a Rochedale home over Xmas!

PUSS PUSS a lean Black Cat with white legs ,belly & nose spends her day in and out of her palace and enjoys nibbling on biscuits during the day and having a delightful Fish or chicken Dine dish for dinner. We didn't see her much as she was always out socialising.

More Slippery than furry were the FROGS who lived in a large fish tank in the family room of Carmen's home. First there were 5 frogs, then Carmen said we would find 4 however we only saw 3....so no one knows how these little fellows are slipping away for they have a glass lid and only a small section was ever opened so as to drop the 'live crickets' in for their daily feast. I completely chickened out! and gave the responsibility to Ian to feed this family of amphibians.

He said they were amazingly fast..... how their tongue would pop out and quickly capture the cricket before it could breath in a breath of air!

THE ALEXANDRA HILLS GANG....
SHKEIA, KRICKET & SYMBAH

Over Xmas we were asked to pet sit for a family in Alexandra hills who were going to Canberra for Christmas.

We were asked to care for a dog and 2 cats however they also own a mouse and 2 birds who live in an aviary in the back yard Too!

Ian visited twice a day to feed all and let the Cats out of the garage enclosure in the morning and then close them back in the garage for the evenings. It is required in the Redlands Shire which I think is an excellent idea, for it certainly assists in protecting wildlife better while still been able to enjoy the pleasure of a feline furry kid.

When we first met SHKEIA (KEI) he still had on his impressive long winter coat, however in summer his mum Melissa prefers to have him clipped back because of our heat and Humidity.

KEI is a Keeshond (pronounced Cazehawnd) best known as the Dutch Barge Dogs.

Kei is 6 years old & lives a quiet lifestyle. He was always pleased to see Ian for a chat and some company.

He shares the yard with two Moggies....

KRICKET & SYMBAH, who are 9 & 10 years old and have very striking Coats. Their favourite place to sleep is on their Dad's work bench in the garage and during the day explore the yard and near by surroundings.

STILL HUGGING PUGS! BOYDELL & ANGEL

We regularly care for Angel & Boydell when their parents Joe & Sue go camping.

The new routine when feeding the Pugs is to place ANGEL on top of the spa. This way she won't sneak any of Boydell's meal and her servings have been reduced.

She still loovves her Breakfast meal of course....that's why she is licking her lips and smiling!! and she is looking fantastic which is great for her health. Mum Sue who owns COHEN'S WEIGHT LOSS LIFE STYLE CENTRE AT EAST BRISBANE is proud of Angel too!

BOYDELL who is the sporty Pug of the family, always enjoys a run around in the yard and a splash in his pool (which you can see in the distance) when we Pet Sit him.

On there last visit they both received new Bow Ties for their Collars from the furryAccessory range.

BIRTHDAY BOY DIGBY

Who better to feature for the 26th Edition of furry Tales than Birthday Boy DIGBY who turned 8 years Old on Australia Day this Year.

Unfortunately his big brother Nick and family decided to go away for the weekend...however we stepped in and cared for Digby over the weekend and even gave him birthday presents of freshly home baked low fat "Tuneriffic" & "Peanut Crunch" dog Biscuits from the FurryTreats range and a handsome Bow tie for his Photographs!

DIGBY is a very handsome Welsh Corgi who lives at Tingalpa. He has a lovely rich Tan coat with 4 white socks, chest and markings on his face..

He has an excellent undercover patio area and indoor Laundry where he sleeps and eats when his family are away. Digby loves to play fetch with many of his balls and toys and we had a gggreat time together. His family left him plenty of fresh water, which is always very important to do....especially in summer.

He feasted on something his Mum Michelle cooks up for him which is Mince, Veges and Pasta plus yummy crunchy Chicken Necks. Many Happy Days ahead to you DIGBY, and hope we get to play with you again soon.

PURRFECT SISITERS of TINGALPA RETURN

Australia Day long weekend, the SiSters of "Tingalpa Diner" once again were in our care while devoted parents Paul & Shelley got away.

These girls certainly are spoilt from their Dinner Setting ! to being left the freedom to sleep inside the house..maybe o nMum & Dad's bed when they were away.

In the morning after breakfast the girls head outside for the day and every afternoon I found them both lying on the front yard lawn watching the sun set.....great life hey!

For our last visit they were both treated to matching Lavender bows which were attached to their collars......can't have SiSters arguing over colour .....now can we!

GUNS and SAMMY

I visited Guns and Sammy over the New Year when Mum Amanda went up to North Queensland.

GUNS is Amanda's furry kid, who is a Lovely and playful 1 year old Boarder Collie. He proved to be very photogenic too with his lovely big smile! Guns loovves to play fetch even in the sun. They both dined on dog luncheon which had been diced and refrigerated + enjoyed a hearty bone each too. They eat & sleep on the lovely back deck of Amanda's house.

Sammy is 13 years old much more reserved and is Amanda's Parents Furry Kid who was visiting for the holidays.

ANGELIC SISTERS....ANGEL & CHERUB

House SiSters Angel & Cherub live with their devoted Mummy Caroline in a lovely townhouse in Chermside.

ANGEL is the big SiSter, 2 years old and is a Birman Persian X. and has more of a Birman appearance with the distinct blue eyes and fluffy latte coat with darker ears and face. She has the best of both worlds, for after breakfast which is a 'Dine' fish meal she shares with her kitten SiSter she heads out for her daily adventures and in the early evening comes back home to to her Mum and to have a yummy raw meat dinner.

One evening she didn't want to come in and so Mum Caroline advised me the best way was to encourage her in side was by asking if " Angel , do you want some BUTTER! "

It worked a treat! and she had her reward.

She likes a smooch and cuddle though does get a little cranky if Cherub hangs around her too much!
CHERUB, is a very interesting name...for a furry kid who is soooo adventurous and loovves getting into plenty of mischief!

Well I know she is only a kitten! However a better name would have been "Little Devil" ! Cherub would love to stalk and attack your big toes when you weren't watching! or fly through the air to dive onto your chest! Cherub is a full Persian with black and white patching and lots of white fluff coming out of her ears! She likes to eat what her big sister has and also enjoys mushy kitten biscuits her Mummy prepares for her every day.

They both sleep in air conditioned comfort with their Mummy and are purrrfectly happy being sooo spoilt!

I should also add in they are very well behaved girls because they also share their palace with many FISH.

Caroline also loves FISH and they are every where in beautiful tanks and bowls....

2 Gold Fish , fan tails, fighting fish and very pretty tropical fish.

OSCAR AUSTRALIA DAY WEEKEND

Over the Australia day weekend , we once again cared for Oscar. Each Morning Ian took him for a half hour walk , some of which included walking by the River. Certainly a lovely way to start a day. On return oscar would feast on his dry food meal.

PAST PACED OSCAR

Ian over the Christmas Holidays got a gggreat work out each morning with OSCAR the 3 year old Golden Retriever from Yeronga.

Oscar's family were holidaying over the Xmas break, so our job was to visit him daily for a half hour walk and then spend an extra half hour with him in his yard while he had breakfast. Ian also brushed his handsome golden coat and made sure his area was kept clean and safe for him. We also collected the mail and watered pot plants for Oscar's mum Sarah.

Oscar must be a regular walking in the mornings for many people would stop to say hello to him and everybody seemed to know his name!

Oscar, like most Retrievers has a lovely friendly personality and was always very excited to see his walkies partner each morning and the gggreat news is that we will be seeing Oscar again for the Australia Day Long Weekend.

SIBLINGS ....CALLIE & RAFFI

CALLIE & RAFFI from Toowoomba area came to stay over Xmas while their parents enjoyed their 1st Christmas not working for 7 years.

They were from the same litter and though their Mum was only considering buying one from the breeder once seeing them didn't want them to be separated so they became house Sister & Brother too.

They are 3.5 years old and are a Cavalier King Charles X Mini Poodle. They have more of the Cavalier traits with black and tan medium length wiry coats and big smiles!

They are very athletic dogs , lean and fit. This largely due to being active and on a strictly dog only food diet. They only have dog treats and enjoy a Barf Paddy each for dinner.

I was very impressed by this and how fit they were....Monet my little Bichon/Maltese was horrified!!

Callie & Raffi enjoyed their Xmas presents on Christmas day though the best present of all was when they saw their parents again.

LION HEART! CASPER the KITTEN

CASPER who was only about 3months old over Xmas came to stay with us for a week while his parents Jodie & Mark went on a holiday to Tasmania.

The booking was penciled in even before Casper had arrived on the seen. His mum was eagerly awaiting his arrival though also new she was to holiday over Xmas and didn't want little Casper to be left alone so we pre-arranged ... his first holiday!

Casper was very small,soft & sweet and loved to purr while you cuddled him. Everything you would image a beautiful little kitten to be.....

He equally enjoyed climbing up security screens to look like one of those stretched out Garfield characters!, flying through the air to land any where over your body where he would begin to terrorise you by biting your toes, arms or face! with his razor sharp little teeth and the best game of all was to terrorise Monet my little dog.

Monet was fascinated by him and sometimes they would have the best games of Chasey and next time they played Casper would insist on chasing Monet to jump on his bottom and long tail and bite him! The fear on Monet's face was truly priceless and I wished I had of been able to capture it on film!

Casper was a very hearty eater after all this play and would finish his bowl of biscuits in one sitting, devour his raw chicken wing to leave no trace but a blood stain on the blanket! and breath in his raw kangaroo meat he had for dinner every night.

So watch out ....the people of Virginia for this little kitten may grow up to be a very soft grey & white playful Lion!

YIN & YANG PAIR .....FOX & PAIGE

FOX & PAIGE house Brother & Sister came to visit for a week when their family went to New Zealand over the Christmas Holidays.

FOX 8 years is a still very lively Jack Russell with a wiry Tan & white coat.

He is lean and athletic loves playing ball and seems to enjoy guarding his food more than ever eating it! and much encouragement was required each night to convince him to eat his evening meal.... He did always enjoy his carob drop before bed!

His younger 4 year old House Sister PAIGE on the other hand enjoyed her dinner meal thoroughly however wasn't as interested in treats! Not so interested in running and playing ball either so a real yin & yang pair!! Paige preferred to wonder around the garden ....sniffing of course since she is a Tri coloured Beagle.

They were excellent House Guests, who seemed to enjoy their holiday however always missed their family.

These 2 could bowl you over!!....ODIN & DENNI

Odin & Denni were 2 very gentle giants we cared for over the New Year. They both were good natured and friendly. Maybe sometimes too friendly .......especially when they tried to give you a hug! Odin caught me of guard the first time he did this when I met them and almost knocked me over with his weight and size!

Odin 3 years is a cross between Bull Mastiff, Bull Arab & Irish wolf Hound and dark Tan in colouring.

His eqally large house Sister is Denni, who is 1.5 years and is a cross between Harlquin Great Dane and Bull mastiff. A little leaner and more dainty than Odin! they both share a great big yard and great big Kennel together.

Dinner time is a big occassion..... with a tin of wet food each, 3 cups of dry food each , a bone for later and a couple of large dog biscuits for desert. They only dine once a day so after the first couple of days of missing their family they tucked in to their large bowls late each afternoon with a big smile!

PURRRFECT Birman lads of Norman Park SMUDGE & BLURR

Purrrfect Birman House Brothers Smudge & Blurr share their Norman Park pad with their devoted Mum Wendy. These boys have a wonderful life and it shows!

They are inside cats and spend their days and nights playing with some of the best cat toys I have seen! Their grand father built them the best cat scratching pole I have seen and I am sure other cat's would envious of!

They also have cat tunnels, a smaller cat pole, loads of toy mice and balls and fantastic and colourful 'fishing pole sticks, complete with caught fish'! which were a lot of fun to play with. They also have the opportunity to wonder in and out of their in closed balcony.

Blurr , 1 years old is a Blue Point Birman and was the cuddlier of the two with me. Especially before and after dinner. Both have the amazing Blue eyes Burmese are known for.

Smudge the more adventurous of the two, also 1 years old was always keen to show off his skills on his scratching pole! Equally handsome this feline lad had more of the dark latte coat with Chocolate ears & face .

These lads are purrrfectly spoilt!
if you have already guessed and chose to be particular eaters too!
They prefer to nibble on a mixture of biscuits during the day and feast on their favourite dish of Ocean fish with lemon for dinner.

BIRD the Kitten

Birdie was a lovely little kitten I cared for over the Christmas Holidays. She normally lives with her house brother Fish who unfortuately was hit by a car days before I was to care for both. The good news is that Fish is now making a good recovery.

Birdy is about 10 months old has a fluffy grey coat and lots of soft fur growing from her ears!

She has gorgeous green eyes and a very sweet personality. She loved cuddles and was happy to pur all day. I visited her twice a day and she dined on a mixture of kitten biscuits and sachet's of wet food....her favourite being chicken and fish.

She spends her time during the day inside sitting on window sils or hiding near the DVD player and is allowed to play outside when her parents are home. So when it wasn't raining we would go out into the back yard for an adventure which She really enjoyed.

ROHIN & SKITTY

As with some humans, some felines look purrfectly handsome in their mature years too, and such is the case with House Sister and Brother ROHIN & SKITTY.

Rohin, is a 10 year old Tonganese with a beautiful coat . He is lean and loves a scratch and pat and play on his scratching pole.

He and his Sister are indoor cats & live in a wonderful Home where they get to roam about in and admire the native habitat that surrounds them.

Skitty, by name and nature is a little moor of people and prefers to hide in her parents bedroom cupboard. She and Rohin have different dietary needs however when she thought no one was looking, helped her self to Rohin's Breakfast instead! they also had daily treats of cat greenies which they seemed to really enjoy.

Skitty is also 10 years old & is a Tonganese Tabby X . They share the kitchen with a lovely fighting Fish that has red/ purple colours. Sometimes it appears they do get VERY close to the fighting fish, however he lives on!

Annie & Lucy the beautiful Beagles from Morningside have become regular clients of furrykids@home. Their Mum Lisa often visits her family in Tasmania so we do twice daily visits to the girls for meal times and Walkies. Our favourtie walk is through the park which

divides Riding Rd and Hawthorne Rd in Hawthorne.

Purrrpect SiSters from Tingalpa....THE GREAT ZUCCHINI & WILBUR!!

Yes that's right you read right!..........

Chini (for short) & Wilbur have most unusual names, and their Parents are yet to explain!

These feline beauties are blood and House SiSters who reside in Tingalpa. By day they love the outdoors and in the evening they have to come in so as to be protected from the local Tomcat Simba! who apparently plays a bit too rough.

The girls are 3.5 years old and are Chinchilla X. Their Dad Paul described them as...Wilbur - Skinny, long haired Cat who is a bit moody, sometimes vocal and loves her food!
The description for Chini was - fat! (only a dad would say that!) short haired cat who is easy going and a little more timid.
Ian cared for them and said both were a little timid at first though by day 2 were happy enough to have their coats brushed however were disappointed to have to go inside each night! They daily feast on biscuits and a variety of Dine dinners.

Their Parents Paul & Shelley were happy with our care of their beloved girls and home and have requested we do the same at Easter time.

HAPPY GO LUCKY NED the POODLE

What a blessed life this Canine fellow has! Handsome, blonde,tall & intelligent .....no wonder all the girl dogs liked him soooo much!!

Ned was a Home stayer over Xmas and in that time was able to entertain 2 pairs of felmale furry kids. He did find PUPPY LOVE with Princess Charli & spent much of the second half of his stay chasing her around the yard and hearing me call out to 'settle down'!

Ned a large Poodle miniture is 4 years old and his well groomed good looks are managed by Grace from the DOG DEN at Balmoral. He adores going for walkies and really enjoyed running around off the lead in the park. His favouite meal is 'texan' chicken wings and is more a grazier than a rush in and eat anything kind of furry kid.

His Mum Debbie knows him well and said he might enjoy sleeping on the leather lounge more than his bed which Debbie supplied and the photos are proof of that!

Over all this lovely lad had a wonderful Xmas with us.....so much so that his Mum has booked him in again for same time next year. GGGGrreat!....and i will mention it to Princess Charli!

THE FORCE IS WITH ARTOO!

This cool cat was in our care for almost 3 weeks while his Dad was visiting family in the USA.

Artoo has very handsome stripping, 18 mths old & lives mainly outdoors. Most days all I did was refill 2 bowls of dry biscuits and 2 bowls of ice water and only came across Artoo on a couple of occasions. His Dad & I figure that by day he was doing his far share of relaxing snoozing under his Qlder Home because at night......their was some serious partying going on!! Well there must have been because this lean slick feline couldn't have been doing ALL that eating! If Artoo's partying ways don't begin to simmer his Dad Derek will have to have an account at

PETS UNLEASHED in Hawthorne ! So don't let these photos fool you of studious or quiet ways......for they were taken after Dad came home!!!

BELLA & OLLIE

Bella & Ollie came to stay when their parents had a quick visit to Sydney with their Parents who were visiting from England.

They are the best of friends and enjoy each others company.

Bella is 3 years and is a Maltese Shihzu X. She loves playing with soft toys, enjoys a game of chasie and then a long rest afterwards! Ollie is 1 year old, likes to be the boss! & loves a game of chasie too and enjoyed playing in the yard.

They have only recently arrived in Brisbane and are still finding all the best places to go and see. Their mum Karen has already found PETS UNLEASHED in Hawthorne and buys the pair yummy treats from Sarah's store. Karen does like to treat them for special occassions and bought then both a furrykidsAccessory bandana for Xmas which they proudly wore for their photo shoot!

BROTHERS IN ARMS.....SUSHI & TOBY

These 2 feline lads live in Morningside. The have a very good set up for themselves. Deck and yard during the day and by night they go inside to be protected from the roaming feral cat that haunts their street!

They have one hearty meal each evening a tin of fish/ chicken and a raw meat satchel each and biscuits to munch on when they choose.

Most days they are pals though every now and then Toby lets everybody know who is the boss! and poor Sushi for the last few days of our time together had a score back leg. Maybe that's why their Parents Michael & Sharon know MORININGSIDE VET SURGERY so well.

Toby is a pale orange Persian with white socks, 12 years and with loads of attitude in the photos!!

Sushi, 10 years a Chinchilla with fluffy white/ silver was more shy of the camera and proved tricky to catch on film since he was trying to dart away. Most days he spends his time hidden on the bottom shelf of the Bar B Que.

MOTHER & DAUGHTER ...TIFFANY & MISTY

Tiffany is 2 years and is a Shihza Maltese cross. White in colour with grey patches. She has a very sweet personality, loves her tickles and is very protective of her little daughter Misty. They do everything together, play, eat and sleep. They came with a very pretty fabric basket however preferred sleeping on the lounge!

Misty 4 months had us all under her spell! floppsey black coat,

her regular trick was when someone would walk past her she would very quickly flip over to expose her little tummy which you had to tickle!! She was also a little demon at stealing every one's biscuits and treats! (growing girl) I guess!!

Both the girls were very shy at first since they hadn't been away from their parents before, though with lots of cuddles & treats they quickly left their shyness at the door and had lots of fun playing in the yard and playing Chasey with Monet.

PURRRFECT SISITERS COCO CHANEL & HERMIONI

These Burmese Beauties are House SiSters and live in a wonderful Apartment with their devoted Mummy Lisa.

Coco Chanel, 3 years old has a dark Latte coat with Chocolate Ears and Tail and enjoys spending her day scratching on her cat pole over looking specular cit views.

She like her sister Feast twice a day on a variety of Dine dishes. They share 1 can for breakfast and other at Dinner time + have a blended mix of yummy biscuits to nibble on at their leisure. They also insist on ice water too keep themselves purrefectly cool at all times.
Another activity they both enjoy, is to greet you at the door of their Apartment and then race down the stairs to the foyer below, and eagerly await the opportunity to escape out side for a wonder around.

This was the favourite activity of Miss Hermioni! who is also 3 years old and has a beautiful silvery/ grey coat.

They also enjoy spending time with a feline furry kid who lives down stairs from them and playing in her lovely cat garden her dad built for her. Yes....these two girls have a purrfectly blessed life.

POODLES.....QUEEN SARA & PRINCESS CHARLI

Sara & Charli have come for Home Stay for 3 weeks while their family are skiing in the USA.

They both have a lovely nature and we are enjoying both their company's' even though they are very different from each other.

Sara is 13, black with a Little grey coming through these days and is a miniature Poodle. She has a very sweet nature, moves slowly these days and mainly enjoys resting on the lounge under the air conditioning unit, walkies and her food!!. In fact she came to us with a spreading waistline and we have been working hard to improve this... and now that 2 weeks have past she is regaining a shapely waistline and looks much happy for not having to carry the weight.
Every time you mention her name or walk past her her little stumpy curly tail it wags madly! She also loves her tummy being tickled and prefers a treat dropped at her feet than taking it from you....this proves to be risky for it gives another certain little poodle ample time to 'Nik' the treat from her big sisters ailing eyes. She does love and looks after her little house sister Charli.

Princess Charli is 1yrs old, cream coat with apricot streak running down her back and ears and is Toy in size. She is none stop fun, has a very friendly personality and is also very cheeky and very cute! She loves just about everything except authority...it cramps her style, bed time because she has to top and everyone stops adoring her for a little while and loud noises. She loves her food and treats and is in a habit of quickly stealing Sara's treats hiding them and getting back to her own, Walkies , playing with lots of toys especially balls of any shape or size and her biggest indulgence is Men! Human or the furry variety!

She is in fact a shocking flirt! and amused my mother Rama and I for her outlandish behaviour! 2 Male poodles have stayed over the same time period and both fell madly in love with her and she in turn appreciated their adorment from the moment she woke until bedtime every day. We have some great stories and will leave them for another blog entry.

They miss their Mum Dad and brother Sean and look forward to their safe return.

Late Novemeber we visited Milo who is pale Ginger and Tammy who has long furry hair for a long weekend when their mum went visiting relations. The pair are 16 years old each though still enjoy sunbathing in their courtyard and pulling apart BonBons which I had left out for them to enjoy when their Mum returned.

Both are fussy eaters these days and like to keep to their routine of tin salmon for breakfast, biscuits during the day and tin fish for dinner. As many felines they dont like getting their photo taken so Tammy proved to be difficult to catch in 'the right light', and the photo of Milo is just before his dinner. Everyday they usualy greeted me from the top of the internal staircase and joined me for a few cuddles before their meal.

REBEL with a cause 'OSCAR' !!

OSCAR is a 5 month old Golden Labrador. He has a lovely Golden coat and a Handsome face with one long wrinkle running down his snout. Our guest visited for 'Home Stay' Friday night because his family were having a big Birthday Party.

Oscar is a very lively Pup and has a huge amount of energy! Having 4 human Kids in his family suits him fine! for that way there is always someone around to play with him.
He was with us for about 20 hours and in that time, 2 plants and 2 ornaments were destroyed!
the verandah got a good wash with all the water he splashed about and toys garlour were played with and the wadding pool got a good work out too!
He loved the low fat baked dog treats I make and all in all I think he had a lot of fun for his first 'sleep-over'.

When his big Sisters Lauren & Ruby arrived to pick him up he was very happy to see them, though they had to 'encourage' him.... "It's time to go Oscar"
I normally take the photos of our visitors on their stay, however Oscar kept me soooo busy that the photos were taken when he was leaving. One photo I believe captures how he was feeling by the time in left....ready to go home for an afternoon snooze!

Barnie & Butters their Holdiay continues....

Barnie & Butters are still on Home stay. Monet is longer very interested them and I think they are happy about that. Butters was a little smaller when they arrived, being only a chick, though now is the bigger of the two.
Barnie continues to 'run the show' and malt feathers everywhere!
For little Budgies they are BIG eaters, they have gone through 2 seed bells and 2 seed hangers that look like wheat plus a new container of bird seed every two days. So not hard to believe we have gone through 6 pages of sand paper at the bottom of their Cage!

They are doing well, missing their Mum Kate and hoping she will be able to come home soon

MISSY, 3 years, is a lovely little furry kid from our local unleashed dog park. Missy's Mum Jan has become addicted to "BOWS" !! and Missy is trying hard to break her Mum of this very cute habit of always ensuring Missy has a bow on the top of her Head. She looks extra special in pink or mauve though Jan has become FurrykidsAccessories Number 1 client for her colection of bows which includes, every colour bar blue ! and a very smart colection of tartan bows for Xmas too. they range in size from very small too small/medium for 50cents each. extra large with double ribbon are $1.50 ea

they look great if you have the hair/ fur on top of your head, otherwise furrykid-Boys & Girls are wearing them on their collars either as a bow or Bow-Tie.

Golly......Miss Molly

Molly 3 1/2 years, has been our lastest 'Home Stay' visitor. Molly is a very unusual cross - Maltese X Australian Cattle Dog. So she has the markings/ size of a Cattle Dog and the wool and face of a Maltese. She is ....a big Teddy Bear! Molly absolutely loves tickles on her tummy and of course has been very spoilt by her Mum & Dad so she adores Human company. We normally go for walkies twice a day, though Molly was sure she only required excerise 'once a day, thank you' so preferred spending most of her day lying in front of the air conditioning unit!...it was a hot day

We really enjoyed Molly's company and she looked very pretty in

her bows when her parents came to collect her.

Bella...the Cocker Spaniel Beauty!

Our latest member to "FurryKids Home Stay" club is Bella. She stayed for 2nights while her parents went to Melbourne for a Wedding.

Bella began her stay feeling very shy and unsure of being left without her parents company.
After about 1/2 hour of getting use to the yard we went for a half hour Walkies around the neighbourhood and then later back home it was treats and drinks all round.

That night we visited our other home stay home and Bella was extremely excited about this adventure. She had lots of fun. Later back home she settled in my room on her favourite pillow and had a good nights sleep.

In the morning.....she was a new girl! full of fun and enjoyed lots of cuddles and tickles on her tummy. She had one of Monet's Tweeny Weeny Greenies for breakfast plus some of her own treats her Mum packed for her. Walkies was a lot of fun and in the afternoon we went for a one hour walk which included a big play and chasies off the lead in the Balmoral High School grounds with Monet. Bella enjoyed her dinner and later tucked up beside me on my Leather couch with Monet resting on the other side.

She felt so apart of the family that by Bed time she insisted sleeping on the Bed with us....as you can see in her photo!

Bella had a lovely weekend with us and went home to her Mum & Dad wearing a new soft pink bow from the FurryKids range.

Chirp Chirp!

That is the current sound i hear all day from my Living Room. Barnie who is dark blue and about 18 mths old is "King Pin" to Butters who is about 9 weeks old and is teal/aqua blue.

They are much loved by their devoted Mum Kate who wanted them cared for in a "Home Stay" enviroment. They have seed, cuttle fish and two other fancy 'seed' foods to feast on.

They love a spray of water on their wings during the middle of the day and can get very excited when fluttering their wings.

Barnie does most of the talking for the two, while Butters remains the quieter of the two, however is excellent at hanging up side down on the side of the cage to occasionally escape Barnie's demands. They are visiting for 2 weeks so we will catch up with their adventures again!

PUPPY FUN!!

The lastest member to FurryKids@Home is a very excitable 10mth old Puppy named "CHARLIE" who lives @ Coorparoo. Charlie is a very lucky pup who lives in a lovely home and has a huge room & big back & front yard to play and live in. He also has a Fur Kid sister "Luka" the Cat. Luka was very shy though on our visits and we never saw her. Not like Charlie, who was delighted to see us every morning & afternoon.

Monet assisted me with each visit and played "chasies " with Charlie. Charlie's favourtie food is chicken necks and also eats some dry food. Charlie is a very hansome Tri coloured King Charles Cavalier Spaniel though unfortunately the photo doesn't do him justice, he was pretty tricky to capture believe me! .....with his non- stop puppy play!

HUG A PUG!!

That was the fun job we had over the weekend. Our stars this week are "Angel" & "Boydell" .
The 2 Pugs live a very pleasant life style in Coorparoo and they are the best of friends.
They share a cosy Doggie house under their parents back deck and the area is complete with a plastic,blue clam shell pool which they love to swim in and a lovely grassy back yard when the mood takes them for a stroll!
"Angel" 5yrs, is pure black and is very sweet, who loves to sit on your lap. She has like many of us an expanding waistline so treats are far & few at the moment! Her Mum Sue owns a weight loss centre at East Brisbane and said
"If only Angel could go on Dr. Cohen's Weight Loss Lifestyle Program..." oh well
Her companion is "Boydell" 3 yrs a blonde & hansome pug who likes to 'lick his own nose....a lot!' He was also rather shy about having his photo taken and wanted to swim instead of posing for a photo shot but we got there in the end! They were very friendly furry kids and now proudly wear the new designer Bows available on our website in the furry shopping mall.

"sniff, sniff" walking with Beagles!

This week our star Furry Kids are 2 Beagles 'Annie' & 'Lucy' of Morningside. Their Mum Lisa had to go away for a week, so we have been walking everyday and visiting again in the evenings @ 'Dinner Time'.

One doesn't "Pound the Concrete' when walking Beagles, it is more like covering every square meter of green strip either side of the footpath to sniff out EVERYTHING!
'Annie' who is 6yrs is tri coloured and use to be a sniffer dog, though now enjoys retirement with 'Lucy' 2yrs (White & Tan) who thinks she is the Boss but really 'Annie' runs the show..
They enjoy comfort in style with their own cool , covered & secure area under the house, swimming pool and matcing everything!

They are lovely Girls and their Mum should be very proud of them.

OUR UNIFORMS HAVE ARRIVED

Hello furry kid lovers, we have been busy since our last post. Bego has now gone home to his Mum & Dad and Monet is settling back into his usual 'easy' routine....it's a dogs life , right!
Our uniforms have arrived. We have gone for red T shirts, and chocolate brown shorts with our logo embroided on the T shirt and Cap. We are very happy with them and happily recommend 'Hien Hua embroidery' in Carina-Brisbane.

Now the serious work begins of finding business. We are hoping that we have picked the right time of year to start a business like this and happily 3 leads/enquiries came in yesterday for Xmas holidays so fingers crossed. We haved also made contact with another pet sitter in the Bayside area who has been very helpful and we hope to be able to exchange leads from time to time which is great. We have also released a range of Xmas bandanas, but we will tell you more about that in our next post.

Hi everyone
it is very exciting time for us at furrykids@home. for the past 2 weeks we have had our first @ Our Home - home stay visitor. Bego (baygo) he is a jack Russell/ Stafford shire X + X with something else! He is white and brown, tall and very energetic! he Looovves playing fetch with any ball though especially one that will squeak! His Mum & Dad are holidaying in the UK so Bego is having lots of fun going for walkies every day, playing in the yard and visiting our second head quarters. We do this so that our @ Our Home stay guests are rarely without human contact. So far 1 hour, Bego and my Bichon/ Maltese X 'Monet' have had to amuse themselves, and the rest of the time these two furry kids are treated with lots of love & Care, tickles, cuddles, home baked treats and general good fun!
